Mission Squash Scholarship Breakfast – Wednesday 30 May 7.30-9.00am (tickets close Mon 28th)

Dear Houston Squash Community

Stephen Hawking, one of the finest scientific minds the world has ever seen, in his parting words encouraged us to “remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can succeed at. It matters that you don’t just give up.”

The Mission Squash Board is delighted to invite you to join the entire Mission Squash community at our Scholarship Futures Breakfast which takes place at 7.30am on Wednesday May 30th.

Since 2015, Mission Squash has been providing Houston students with the tools they need to reach their true academic, physical and personal potential. Our Scholars commit to attending intensive academic tutoring, individualized learning and mentoring in a safe environment after school, at weekends and throughout summer. The sport of squash helps to deeply engage students and parents with the program, boosts health and self-esteem, and through its extensive private high school and collegiate connections exposes families to new horizons of the possible. Our goal is for every student starting the program in 6th grade to stay in school, persist in college and excel in life.

With our enrollment now spanning four grade levels, and our oldest scholars just finishing up their first year of High School, the theme of our breakfast this year is “Going Boldly.” We are thrilled to welcome our guest speaker, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star, Pierce Bush, who joins us to explore the importance of mentorship in young people’s lives, and in particular how they help shape the networks of opportunity that are so important to our scholars.

The program will include updates from our programming this year together with some exciting news announcements. I would love you to share an early breakfast with our scholars, parents, volunteers, board, staff and supporters.

Date and Time: Wednesday May 30th, 7.30am-9am
