Houston squash player on PSA World Tour

Houston’s only squash player competing on the PSA World Tour, Mission Squash Executive Director Nick Sutcliffe has a busy month ahead! After intense off-season’s training, this week he travels to London to compete for the prestigious British Amateur Championship, a tournament with a 104-year history. Nick has reached the final twice and has upped his preparation this year to be in with a chance at the title.

Before the tournament he’ll be training in Pontefract, Yorkshire with Malcolm Willstrop, coach and father of former World Number 1 James Willstrop, and at the English Institute of Sport with Mark Campbell, strength and conditioning coach to 3-time World Champion Nick Matthew.

After returning to Houston for more training he heads out to the British Virgin Islands to compete in PSA events in Tortola, a beautiful island that was recently hit hard by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, completing the triangle with the Bermuda $10k the following week.

Nick’s tournament winnings are donated to education projects for underserved students in Houston as part of the Mission Squash program.

Good luck Nick!
